Action for Children: If anyone has a home collecting box, please pass it to Janet Padwick for emptying. If you would like to have a box, please see Janet who has a supply of them; its surprising how much small change adds up over a year! You could also give a donation if you don’t want a box.

Last week, a few of us joined Marie Dove at a Donors evening at the Open Doors Project in Princes Avenue Methodist Church, Hull. Each week, over 100 refugees, asylum seekers and others who have awaiting appeals are supplied with food, money and accommodation. English classes are available and there is an ‘All Nations’ womens craft group. The project is currently running at an annual deficit of about £5000 so financial support is urgently needed. Once a month, Marie Dove collects gifts of money, food and toiletries from our church and takes them to Hull. Please renew your support for the vital work our Methodist friends are undertaking there. For further information, there is a September newsletter on the table in the church vestibule and here is a list of required food and toiletry items, which will also be posted on the Open Doors poster on the notice board. Boxes are out and available on the first Sunday of each month:-

Tuna,Tea bags, Shampoo, Sardines,Sugar,Shower gel, Baked beans, Toilet Rolls, Toothpaste, Tinned tomatoes, Washing powder, Kidney beans, Razors, Pasta, Soap and Rice.

Thank you.

Thanks to all involved in last weekend’s Harvest celebrations. £365.16 was raised as a result of the supper and entertainment and £547.76 from the Smartie tubes.
